Ball joint play?
The other day I was rotating my tires and I noticed a little ball joint play both upper and lower about 1/8 - 1/4 of an inch. I have just over 34,000 miles on the truck. The 33's been on for about 20,000. Do you think it is worth taking it to the dealer to try and get them covered under warranty. Or do you guys think it is a waist of time since I have the after market wheels and tires?

i believe i read in other posts, that chrysler considers that amount of movement normal. i replaced my ball joints last june, along with my whole entire front end!! i have absolutely no ball joint movement-tight as can be!

Take it in
I took my 03 for an alignment and they told me the ball joints were bad. Took it into the dealer and they replaced all the upper and lower joints. I think it was about $1800 to have it done if not under warranty. They covered everything. The truck now rests in peace with new ball joints. Hope they improved them on the 07's.

My ball joints have had a bit of movement almost since day one. I have had the truck into the dealership 3 or 4 times over the last few years and Dodge has always refused to replace them under warranty. They say the play is within specifications, although my regular shop says they should be done.
