i just spent a couple hours preparing to take the head off.. removed top turbo, fuel rail etc.. once i got to the head itself, it almost looks like an injector is leaking up through. i made sure to remove the old copper washers before i put the new ones in.. but, the number 4 injector almost looks like its clean, and the oil in the small ports below it looks fairly runny.. would a bad injector cause the truck to run like a blown head gasket? (excessive white smoke, run very rough) and if so, would it still leak oil and fuel mixture?? it has no sweet odor at all, such as the antifreeze smell..what should i do? and how do i detect if it is a bad injector??

 

Absolutely! Injectors need to be tested. Sounds as though you have at least one bad one. If you have a cracked body, the fuel will mix with the oil also.

 

I sure hope its the injector... would save me alot of o-ringing porting polishin that head... not to mention all the time of putting it all back on haha who would be able to check the injector?
