Axle Breakage?
Anybody here heard of or know anyone who has broken either of their axles or other drivetrain parts? If so what were they doing?
I understand that these parts are supposed to be some of the strongest made, but It just seems to me like with all of the horsepower and torque that there should be a weak link in their somewhere. I have jumped mine (with stock suspension, unintentionally of course), towed heavy trailers, dragged in four wheel drive with hard launches, four wheeled her into deep mud/sand till it was barried to the frame, and in the spring plan to do some sled pullin. I plan more mods in the future and just was wondering where the limits of the axles, drive shafts, and so forth are.
I did get a mild vibration at around 30,000 that would happen only at higher speeds. It turned out to be a bad u-joint in the rear of the drive shaft and Dodge replaced it for free.
I have considered making some axle housing braces in preparation for the big oops but I havnt seen a set of them on these trucks yet, not even the KORE race truck(atleast I didnt see one). Not necessary?
Initially I was dissapointed that the "tried and true" Dana's were'nt gonna be in my truck but these AAM's are definatly proving me wrong. No rash of complaints (that I have seen) would imply a fairly stout product. Now if we could just get a few different gear sets and a locker for the rear we'd be set.

The factory axles are plenty strong for sledpulling or 4 wheeling.
Suspension can be improved though, like adding stronger leaf springs, shocks etc.
Alot of the suspension is wimpy for an improved ride.

Were the bent axle housings due to bottoming out the shocks in the Kore Setup?
LOL...just kidding...I could not help myself and I have no idea of what I am talking about...

I broke my transfer case pullin' slow with the box off in 4Hi at Pismo with 8500# in tow. Chain stretched and was making all kinds of noises!! Dealer replaced it and ordered me a new front driveshaft as well. Been there 2 weeks now and still isn't fixed!!! They're tryin' though!
