Average MPH over life....
#16
3473 hours for 145448 miles gives 41.879642959976965159804203858336mph but I had the speedo disconnected for about 3000 miles and lots of RAD time = no miles put on. With those "extra miles" I'd get to about43.190325367117765620501007774259.
Most of this is Towing and I live in a Province where the maximum speed limit is 55 and the norm is 50mph. ks

Roll over Pete, If my average speed was that low I'd sell my truck and get a shopping cart as it would be faster . Yep these numbers need to be accurate otherwise the rounding errors could cause a warranty issue.
Just say not to idling.....Idling is for Chevy 6.5's and Fords. ks

Yeah... I know I idle lots... Like this evening.... while servicing and fueling my tractor, I run my headlights as well as a 12 volt flood light mounted to a magnet with 30' of chord that plugs into my trailer conection. Then theres the laptop with the 12v\120\ inverter. Adds up to 1/2 - 1 hr depending on how involved I get. I almost always idle up to 1000-1200 rpm's thanks to my handy dandy pvc against the seat to the pedal device. Everything said, my truck is just another tool which helps me get my job done. It gets used hard, gets dirty, and even has a few scratches. It also more than pays for itself...which is extra money in my pocket. If it were the other way around and cost me money to run it, I would have never bought it.

Yep, Its not so much the idle as the low rpm idle. I met a guy at my normal diesel shop who had over 650k km on his 04 and he never turned it off unless it was gonna sit for more than 3 hours. If he stayed at a hotel in winter....he'd leave it going all night. The only engine parts he's had to replace are waterpumps....number 3 he's on....I'm on #2 and I probably need a PS pump. He tows RV's for a living and he's about 80. Hey my truck is still a work truck too. Every time I tow a load it saves me $200 to $1000 bucks so it has already paid its self off 3 times over. That's why I don't mind spending some time and money on it. ks
