Guy's I'm not saying ATS' or BD's kit wont work I was just informing you as to what your getting. People spend a lot for twins including mine and it is nice if they get the facts and what they can realistically expect to get out of their set up.
Wap,
The GT42 has essentially the same flow as the S400 on the compressor side. The GT42 can be had with various wastegated exhaust housings (1.01, 1.15, 1.28) but it like the K-31/A5K has a rather small exhaust wheel 3.2" inducer. The S400 has a 3.78" inducer and is only available in a 1.32AR non wastegated housing. The S400 will spool slightly slower but it will make more power due to less back pressure. The GT42 cost more too.

What about the Industrial Injection twins? I think they are using a Phat Shaft 62 and a K31. Does that sound like a good set up? I would really like to do a custom set up but the funds want allow it. I have gotten some good price quotes on the BD, ATS and II twins. That is the reason I am looking at them. Keep the comments coming.

I just heard about the new BD higher performance twins.. A friend of mine has a set on the way.. 62-12 over an S400.. What's the smallest S400? This has potential to be a very good power maker.

It's not ideal. It's a 80mm S400. The Big Brother name was coined by Turbo Auto Diesel for a S4T Schwitzer turbo. Two totally different turbos of much different size. You could probably tow fine with it but you'll have to deal with a bit more lag and probably lock out OD until your up in the rpms a bit while towing.

the 'bigger' BD twins have been 'in the development process' for at least a year or more
if you want bigger than off the shelf twins, I would go with the Industrial Injection twins or Nathans, just my opinion

Ive been hearing about them since 2005 and its one of the reasons I bought my BDs.
I wanted the ability to move up, and It hasent happened. I need more air and dont want to spend 6+K on another set of twins. I was hoping the new kit from BD would use the primary on my current set up as the secondary on the new set. But when I bought my twins some of these custom twins makers were not well known and I had no clue. My point go with someone like Nathan who can build you whatever you need. I would if I could do it all over but Im stuck waiting for BD, and I wouldnt be suprised if it takes them another 2 years. And if it doesnt happen soon Im going to start over with a custom builder, atleast that way if you need to move up you have a builder that can help you out and work with you. Rant off...

We are running them on our 06 with stacked boxes 100hp injectors and the bigger rail. EGTs were controlable. We are currently working on a bigger set that will use a 300/400 combo. This will support well over 800hp. Should be a couple of months for this.
