ATS Trans Commander in with pacbrake
Guys, After getting my FASS in on Tuesday, I got the pac brake and commander put in wednesday. I'm sure I have dropped 4 seconds off my 1/4 mile times with more fuel and early lock up. The pac brake works but is largely untested with the empty 48 foot southwest I'm moving these days. Getting everything up to speed with the commander on is harsh. Those 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 shifts while locked up are neck snappers (u-joints also) 1 to 2 locked up is like butter. I am leaving the ATS off while getting up to speed and then clicking it on. Empty it is ok. I now have a real tow haul with od lock out. The commander holds od alot longer than stock before shifting to 3rd...1200 rpm. This should keep the mileage up. Towing empty with the TST turned up and lots of fuel there is little lugging just slow acceleration from 1200 to 2000rpm in od. I'm in the middle of a 3500 mile trip so I'll update on the towing performance increases and mileage gains hopefully. ks

electrical genious may be required
Tom, I using the commdr to control the pacbrake so I want lock up to 18mph for exhaust braking. It would be easy for ATS to have an acceleration lockup speed and a braking lock up speed. The easiest way would be that if the speed is below the lock up speed setting and the exhaust wire is in use and the brake is depressed then the lockup is on. Maybe there is a hardwire fix for this. Any electrical genius out there ks
