ats tranny is cooked...consumers please read

My ats stage 5 tranny has under 7000 miles on it and is in the 05' below. i just put on the bigger turbo so the following happened with a 62/12 htt.

story goes as such and i'm not slamming ats, just disappointed.

truck has done 2 sled pulls, 4 trips down the strip, no towing, and just daily driving. things started to feel soft a few weeks ago so i dropped it off at my tranny shop here for them to test. after pulling pan, fluid seemed burned so i gave them the ok to crack the case and check inside. well, things are not pretty, lots of burnt and warped clutches and the band was smoked. i'm not a tranny guy but i do understand the basics.
Called ats to see if they could assist me somehow and they instantly revoked my warrenty because someone else cracked the case.
The truth of the matter is..they could care less about a customer who spend alot of $$$ with them, all they were concerned with was that someone else cracked the case. I live in maine and was hoping for better..or atleast...some service. the conversation lasted about 2 minutes. My tranny guy called back to double check their decision and he got lectured about opening the case.....pretty interesting conversation to witness.
So, bottom line is...i understand where they are coming from, just very disappointed in their lack of caring for a good customer.
On a side but related note, I'm not impressed with the internals of the tranny. not all that beefed up considering their marketing. i will be happy to post pictures of the carnage and the internals if anyone is thinking about that tranny and let you decide if its where you want to spend your money. i liked their product, 1) before i saw the internals and what you get for your money...
2) before i had to deal with warrenty work.
needless to say, i will not get another tranny from them...or any parts...and i am pleased to have another tranny built from my guys here. bitter sweet ending i guess. minus being out $4K

I cannot speak for you, but.....I've pulled apart an ATS tranny with 80,000 miles behind a 500+ HP truck and it looked GREAT. Unless you are knowledgeable, the shafts are tough to tell the diff between a billet or stock.

Sorry to hear about that, I would be upset myself, especially after the money loss, and I think you handled this the right way. as far as not being mad at them, you just politely informed everyone else of the situation to let them make there own opinions of a company that seems to have no customer service or support. Especially with a customer that just dropped about 5 to 7 grand on one of there trannies. You would think that ats would be able to work with the shop that cracked open the case. I deff will not purchase any tranny parts from them. And I am fixin to get into the trans soon. Thanks for the info.

I am sorry to hear about the loss. With transmissions warranty issues can always leave some hard feelings because of the dollar value involved. Now not that I am at all trying to defend them, but when the failure occurred did you contact them to see what they wanted you to do? When we have a failure we advise the shop calling on what we would like them to do with it. I know that some of the parts in there are put together with tight tolerances and if the case is opened up it might be harder to tell what the failure was caused by. Again I am not in anyway defending them, just maybe shedding a little light on the reason they don't want the case opened.

Failures are a part of the transmission business and how the company deals with it is probably more important than the transmission itself.

Policy or not Ats should at the very least review the transmission before they make an arbitrary decision.
ATS should reconsider there position.

A warranty issue on a 450hp truck with only 7000 miles is a no brainer.

Their warranty on all of their parts leaves a little lacking.
