ATS Fender Flares: Will they rub 35's?
Just installed the KORE Chase Series along with 17x8.5 Weld EVO's w/5-1/8" backspace, and 325/70/17(34.9") Toyo AT's. And ofcourse the tires stick out a little more than I'd like. With the wheels turned, it seems kind of tight. Not much room between the tire and the trailing side of the fender well.
I'm wondering how thick the ATS flares are. I'd hate to order them and install them and the tire rubs. Anyone know?
Thanks,
Terry

My buddy has those exact flares and a 3" lift and the only way his 35's rub is when he has it at full turn and that is on the front of the fender barley. If i'm not mistaken the KORE is a 4" kit so you should have no problem. "Should" have no problem. See what others say.

Post a picture!! I am wanting to do 325/60/20R (uhh with a 4 inch lift ) and I want to see what that size tire would look like. I was worried about how much the tires will stick out past the fender well also!

I have no lift and my 315s (34") are extremely close to rubbing the flares. I put thin rubber mudflaps on and they rub everytime I make a hard turn now...

Called ATS today and they said the flares are only 1/8" thick where it mounts up underneath the fender and they assured me that they have never, ever heard of any of their flares rubbing the tire with ANY truck/lift/wheel and tire combo. I'm skeptical though, and mine will probably be their first.
I think that a wheel with 5-1/8" backspace is a pretty good compromise with these 2500's which have the crazy 6-1/4" backspace on the stock forged wheels. The run of the mill 4-1/2" backspace would really be hanging outside after you consider the tire will make it stick out another inch or so.
BTW, the KORE is about a 2.5" kit in the front, and about 1" in the rear.
No pics to post...yet.

I run the ATS flares with the 315's and I have a little rub when turning the tires. I managed to trim the inside of the flare with a dremel tool and I also had to trin a little section on the bottom that connects to the rocker panel. There is a little bolt head sticking out. I just made a little dimple for it and the covered the dimple with the factory paint. Seems to do all right, but I may get the dremel out again to see if I can take a little more off. Over all I can handle the small amount of rubbing. I have pictures in my gallery, not of the rubbing, but of the complete tire and fender package.

I've got a stock height 2005 Ram with stock wheels and BFG 315's. ATS Fender Flares installed. ZERO rubbing. None. And this is with off-road use. I used the truck in Mexico (chasing for a TT team) two weeks ago and drove it hard. Real hard. Articulated the front end as far as the stock suspension would allow and I had ZERO rubbing. I had two drums of fuel, four dump cans, two 37" spares for the race truck, and a bunch of other race related stuff in the bed. The rear never rubbed either, and that's with the factory rear axle lift spacers flipped to help level the truck.

If you didn't have a problem with an unlifted 2500 with 35's, that helps reinforce the notion that I have that some 2500's do indeed have a stock ride height that is taller than others.
I have a long bed 05 2500, and from the time I got it, it just looked like it didn't have a very tall stance to it. Other times I've been right next to other stock 2500's, and they seemed rather tall in comparison.
Guess the reason I bring this up is after the KORE and 35's, it still looks like it could use another 1" or so.
