Anyone using Mopar EGT Gauge with SRT10 Pillar?
Is anyone using the Mopar EGT Gauge with the SRT10 A-Pillar Mount? I'm looking at installing or having this gauge installed soon and would like some input whether this is a good gauge or should I go with IssPro or Westach or some other brand. I was looking at the Mopar gauge, I believe it's made by Autometer and is 2 1/16", same as the A-Pillar mounting hole. I've read where some have mounted a 2" gauge in this pod and wrapped some tape around the gauge or used velcro to help hold the gauge in place.
Also, how thick is the exhaust manifold, I'm thinking about getting some cast iron and using it as a practice piece to drill and tap in before going after the manifold. If I don't get comfortable after practicing I'll take it somewhere and have it installed.
Thanks Much
Eric

I've dealt with this company before, bought many Mopar items from them in the past, Art is good to deal with.
Thanks

the srt-10 stuff is availble from the dealer and online. Autometer makes them both. I use the srt-10 pillar with a westach combo boost/egt gauge. works great. Yes, I used 2 wraps of black electrical tape on my gauge so that it would not spin in it's mount. It's not very thick, can't remember the exact thickness. (exhaust manifold) To drill the exhaust manifold and intake is very easy and once you get it done you'll wonder why you worried so much. just take your time and be sure to use lots of vaseline and a antenna magnet WHILE drilling to catch the shavings. also I did not remove the exhaust flange, as what little bit of shaving dust might have been left blew right past the turbo during startup. Had to cover the Aluminum intake boot with double-back stick tape for drilling, but thats a no brainer also. Very easy to do with GOOD or new quality tools. (don't skimp).
Good luck

SRT 10 pillar is cool.
But if you want a better looking gauge in my opinion go with the DiPricol (available from TST) white face EGT.
The Autometers numbers do not light up like oem.
The Pricol's do!

I was looking at doing the same set up that you are asking about. I went with the SRT-10 pillar and decided on the Isspro Gauge. It is a very close match to the stock gauges. I don't believe the night time lighting on the Autometer gauges is as good. I also noticed that the Isspro Gauge fit very nicely into the SRT-10 pillar and it also came with a rubber ring which doesn't allow it to spin in the pod. Sorry, I tried to attach a pic of the set up but I guess I am not sure how.

The "m" badge and the pillar make for a very natural fit for out trucks.
