Question Anyone use the Scorpion Diesel transmission controller?

I am looking at getting a transmission controller, and as I was looking around I found this unit on Ebay. Sounds like a good price, but I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with it, and if they have how has it been. It says in the description that it uses the cruise control, which I dont understand how that works.

Thanks Guys

Kevin

If not this brand, then what would you recommend?

There is a post here somewhere that tells how you can do this yourself with some wire and a toggle switch. This would give you a manual controller rather than automatic.

I have been looking at the copilot, but it is very expensive, I was hoping to find something that is automatic, but not quite so expensive

Anyone else with info on these things ? I am interested as well. The ATS is too expensive, BD is next, but Scorpion is the cheapest. I like the automatic release. I woula hate to forget to release the manual switch.....

Looks similiar to a sp diesel product plus on sp's website they mention having transmission controlls available through the cruise buttons. They only have one available for ford at this time but says dodge coming soon.
This is for the ford:
Speed Sense TC Controller Key Features Feature Benefit Description
Cruise Interface No need to drill holes for switches or find neat places to mount your switch. This brake uses several of the buttons on the cruise for it's operation. The SSEB DOES NOT interfere with normal operation of the cruise control switchgear, we are simply piggybacking it. No bunch of relays and wires can do that. You won't find this feature anywhere else. SP Diesel Does it AGAIN! See below for operation logic.
Microprocessor based control unit That's right. This Brake shows up for game day with lots of horsepower.
Transistor Solenoid Driver Circuit Super-fast switching Transistor Circuitry fires the TCC Solenoid in the blink of an eye. Transistors are spec'd to 2x rated wattage for long life and cool running. Heat sinked design dissipates minimal amounts of heat off the board.
Firmware Upgradeable If we find new ways to improve the TC Controller through software, we can flash your brake to the latest code revision.
Settings Stored to onboard memory Your user settings are stored in memory each time you make a change.
Easy to Install Spend less time installing and more time enjoying! installation on the SP Diesel SSTC is a snap.
Made in the USA Not outsourced, built in the USA. Even the PCB (circuit board is made in the USA)

Cruise Functionality Table

Cruise Button Function
On Disable SSEB
Quick Off no function
Off 2 Seconds Defeat Cruise/ Enable SSEB
Coast Enable/Disable Cold Weather Package (stored in EEPROM)
Set Set Lock Speed for Converter (for TC enabled models only)
Resume Set Unlock Speed for Converter/Reset Values (for TC enabled models only)
Sorry larry I know how you hate sp as do I but i figured this would help in the thread. I would stay away from either kevin. Just my .02.
