I just installed one today for a customer on an 05, still have to put theHot Juice on tomarrow and an ATS convertor and valve body. I'll let you know what my impressions are when we are finished. Got a new Mustang 1750 on order and will be here in June so no dyno numbers for a little while.

So what are you doing with the stock turbo? That's a step up for the 555 crowd ...

Funny you should you ask... we are actually going to built a set of twins for a 12V that runs a couple of stock turbos from the 05's off of three cylinders each. I'm sure its been done but i have never heard how the results went. Will be a fun project wether its crashes and burns or not.

I don't have the 555. I've got a 04.5 600.

I believe its called a Phat Shaft 62. Looks identical to a B1 with the compressor housing from the John Deere tractor that has the bend cast into it.

Now THAT sounds cool.

I've wondered before why people haven't done that more. Cheap (stock) turbos! But I guess the plumbing will require some work, plus a custom exhaust manifold. And do you reverse-Y into one intake or do you run dual AFE's? Hmmmm keep us updated with pics when you start getting this fab'd up!

I don't have any personal experience, but I have heard from some of our dealers that you need to make sure you get their warranty in writing.

Maybe not for that particular turbo? I don't know. I do know that they offer turbos similar to an HX40 that they extend warranty on. I know of a dealer that put one on a basically stock truck and it broke within a week and they would not warranty it. Thats all I know.

And there are good turbo shops that warranty high horsepower turbos. The chargers aren't cheap, but they are very good quality.

Keep us informed on this. I bet you have turbo lag real bad. This is why we shouldn't call compound turbo's " twins " !!! There is nothing 'twin ' about them.

Actually, variants of the air-cooled Porsche Turbo went to two smaller turbos (1 per bank) as did the Volvo S80 T6 in order to REDUCE turbo lag in comparison to one large turbo.

Two turbos in sequence isnt as efficient as the compounded turbo set up, It works better than a single but not better than a compounded set of twins.

As for an aftermarket performance turbo with a warrantee, the Edge/Diesel Dynamics turbo has a 1 year warrantee on their new charger I believe.

As always....

I'm gaining a lot of information and knowledge from our discussion but in particular what I'm looking for in this thread is feedback on Industrial Injections' Turbos and if anyone has practical feedback on their units,...their quality and their customer service. Help is appreciated for a educated purchase. tks.
