Anyone know how to fix this code.

I have a p2609 code saying no voltage drop seen from intake air heater. I checked all fuses and nothing. It only comes on after I wait for the wait to start light to go off then start my truck in the am. if i clear it with my smarty it will stay off till the next day in the am when it is cold again. Anyone know how to fix this? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

Not sure what the manual says but:

I would start by checking to be sure the grid heater is plugged in, use an ohm meter and check if it is getting voltage while the Wait To Start Light is on, and even Ohm the grid heater to be sure it is not open.

Hope this helps, if not I'm sure someone else will be able to help.

I had that code recently, it take several key starts of it not happening again, then it goes away. I think it was something like 8 or 10 times that the grid heater DID cycle after I got the code. For whatever reason, every so often, the grid heater does not cycle properly after waiting for the wait to start lite to go out. Mine DID cycle when it threw the code, I had the normal amperage draw seen on the voltmeter and light dimming etc, so there was actually NO reason to throw the code in the first place. All I could figure was that it WAS extremely damp and humid, then overnight the temps dropped about 40 degrees, must have affected the electronics??
