Hmmm, I just noticed you don't have any boost fooling in your sig. It may set a high boost code. You know, that may be the reason you aren't seeing boost. If the wastegate opens at stock levels then that's the problem. The Smarty should easily provide enough fuel for higher boost levels but the ECM will shut it down.

i have had the smarty set to stock for a while now since installing my tc and adding my fuel system i havent re-installed the smarty yet. i want to troubleshoot this problem before i download a performance sw

my truck has always had problem making boost when its been cold, but this is the coldest its been and the worst problem i have had so far. i think the actuator/wastegate are sticking in cold weather.

it is supposed to warm up on monday so i will see if i gain my boost back. if not i will clamp the hose to see if it fixes it. if i get a code i will clear it w/ my smarty.

I have a nice 10% grade, 1 mile long hill immediately after a turn off the main highway. This makes for great testing in 5th at any power level you choose. In stock setting at WO, my boost gauge would peak at 30psi and then drop back to 26 and hold. With Smarty Jr #1, it climbs up to 35psi at WO.

It's probably colder here than in MD, so maybe there is another problem.

it warmed up a little and i am making more boost today. i got it to spike over 30psi like normall and it held as much as 25psi steady but its still not making that boost all the time like it does when its marmer out.

im sure there is a problem w/ the actuator or wastegate sticking when it gets cold outside. i will be upgrading to an htt 62/71/13ss soon so if i have any problems making boost w/ the aftermarket turbo then i will know there is a problem somewhere.

i havent got a chance to clamp off the wastegate hose yet, but i figure if it doesnt work that could still mean the wastegate is sticking open or there is a problem somewhere else so it really wouldnt give me a definitive answer unless the actuator is bad then it would work.

This post makes sense to me. your hunting a ghost. air to air charge air cooling. colder temps, lower charge air temperature at the intake manifold = lower boost pressure.

Clamp off the wastegate and forget about it. Just be easy when backing off at WOT this will keep the turbo from barking.
