Anyone Else Have Problems W/ Autometer Phantom2 Egt Gauge?

im on my second one and it just quit on me again tonight. this time im telling them i want a different model and a matching boost gauge as well. im starting to get very frustrated w/ this particular model gauge. i have always used autometer gauges and never had any problems until i gave the phantom2series a try

Are you sure it's the gauge? The LED lit gauges themselves just differ in the face and LED color.

I've heard the EGT probes failing, and there's two different styles available.

For what it's worth, my Phantom II's have worked great for a couple years now, and IMO they are the coolest looking ones out there.

i guess it could be the probe itself. i will check tomorrow when i start the truck again, these gauges do a test sweep everytime they get power so that will tell me if its the gauge again or the probe. i forgot to look for it to sweep earlier.

I have the same guages and had one egt guage fail, the new one has been over a year and still works great. If you do test your thermocouple you can use a voltmeter and check across the two wires coming from the probe. They should read a very low voltage and only slightly higher when it heats up it won't be much though so don't think its bad if it only puts out .2 of a volt thats quite normal.

i believe it is the thermocouple because the gauge still does its test sweep when it gets power. i called summit and they said they could send me another gauge but i havent been having too much luck w/ these.

anyone have any other recomendations?

I had a problem with my Autometer pyro when I first installed it ,I called autometer and they said they had a bad batch go out. I sent it in and within a week they sent a new one.
