Anyone else had issues grooving the crank sensor?
Grooved my crank sensor the other day bad so I pulled one off a 6.7 in the shop that was practicly new and it was grooved as well. Not the first one I have gone through with this motor. Was wandering if anyone else had had this problem and if they found any thing wrong with the crank or something.

Lloyd is correct, my crank sensor was also badly grooved. I replaced it with a new one and all is well up to now. I can't see how the tone ring could of possibly touched the face of the sensor since there is plenty of clearance between the two. I checked for clearance at idle and nothing seemed to be out of round, clearance looked the same to the eye.

I dont really understand how it can do it since the tone ring is hubcentric to the crank. Me and John are maby thinking the tone ring may grow at higher rpms or somthin but other then that I cant come up with a good explanation.
