Any one have pics of a leveled 2 wd

35000 on them and have about 1/2 tread left. If I can get 60k out of them I will be satisfied, my terra grapplers only netted me about 40k. Worlds better ride and better wet traction. They do acceptable in mud and slicker conditions, but grip surprisingly well.

Now here's my truck. I moved the spacers above the rear axle, dropping the rear 1.5'' down. The front is stock so far, I bought a 1.5'' spacer pads but still dabating on installing them. I have done some trimming to the fenderwell to keep from rubbing on the turns. I basically cut to make it flush and then spot welded to re-enforce it back up. On the plastic wheelwell liner, I cut the lower portion off.
I have an airbag level kit which I had to mod to keep from bottoming out when not aired up. Always a chain reaction.

The terras work pretty well on the street, but the track NOPE!! Like I'm on grease......the dang vht and the terra bad combo.

I was boasting about the duras, the terras didn't like wet weather on my truck, got too squirrely and terrible treadlife for what I wanted.
Yea using a jack would work but I wouldn't suggest it for amateurs, its not entirely safe.

Thanks,
PS. Great to see what you all are doing with your 2wd's. Keep them coming!

Thanks for the compliment. I did the 2.5" myself. It was a pretty easy install. I used a jack to compress the springs and stood out of the way as I lowered the A-arm. Just put the truck on stands, put a jack under the A-arm, take the shocks loose, disconnect the tie rod & sway bar and lower the jack slowly. I've done it this way many times but it can be dangerous if you're not careful. The spring compressors are kind of a pain in my opinion. They ones from the auto parts stores scare me because they're not really built for these HD springs.
I didn't install new shocks immediately and it really wasn't that bad. The shocks did limit the wheel travel a little bit if I was off of the pavement but it wasn't a big deal. I put 285/70/17 BFG ATs on the truck with no rubbing and then 285/75/17 Toyos on the truck with no rubbing. The 315/70/17s rub the sway bar very slightly at full lock.
The 2.5" lift puts the truck perfectly level. I have pictures in my gallery where I put a tape measure on it to show everyone. I do like a little rake and I hate for my truck to sag when a trailer is hooked so the airbags take care of that.

the bilsteins were buy 3 get one free while back on some sites.
i thought only the 4wd had a pad over the rear axle that you could relocate to lower the rear?
how did going higher affect your MPG?
that was one of the complaints of why 4x4 got worse MPG than 4x2
in some threads, ??
