any aftermarket fixes for POS HVAC?

i took my truck in a few times to have the HVAC fixed,

they finally just took out the Mega Blend door and said "it's FIXED!!"

well come winter, and I don't have enough air our the bottom to keep my feet warm.

i can hear the door slapping around in there, sounds like it has broke and come loose from it's moorings.

is there a better door design? whats the correct PN's to order?

any got scans/copies/pics of the pages out of the service manual to do this repair?

there's no reason to take it back and PAY them to farkle with it again, if they did not fix it the first 3 times for free, prolly won't do no better just because I am paying vice warranty work.

sometimes, i wish I had bought a good Toyota.

I'd find the area field manager and show that person what was done to your truck. You do still have all the service orders/reciepts?? The dealership obviously didn't fix it correctly, right?? That is not acceptable for me and I'd also be sending a registered letter to Chrysler about this. I'm working on a lemon with my wife's car, have a lawyer to start working soon if the service area manager doesn't come through.

i've been down all that road before.

the lawyer is the FIRST step in all this crap.
nah, the dealer has the paperwork in their system, but what good is it all if DC is too stupid to fix the truck?

i got a heck of a Tranny Stutter on the 1-2 shift now,
it's $100 deductible to have them look at it.
it has always shifted like crap, i did the filter & fluid (ATF-4) and adjusted the bands, so it's my fault now, and i have to deal with that.

nah, i would rather drive a Toyota with warm feet
than a dodge and freeze to death while it stutter shifts all over town.

good, thanks.

I can deal with a lot of things, but the OL and I ride to work together, and her cold feet are killing me, and my cold feet ain't making me any happier.

it only blows air out the dash (in your face)
or out the defrost vents (in your face)

supposa be ~20's tomorrow, and not get out of the 30's.
yikes!

thanks, i will search for the thread, i had read a few when the dealer played with it before, but did not see any pics.

simple people need pictures :O

How many times did you have this truck in the dealship?? If over 3-4 times for the same exact thing, then you need to find a 'lemon law' lawyer. Where I'm at, there are 5 law offices within 20 miles just for lemons. I don't pay a dime for their services, DC does. Get on your computer and type in lemonauto and see, I happened to see the ad on the ads above (ads by google).

I hate to type this, but if you're so unhappy with your ride you should trade it in for a toyota ( I work at a toyota manufacturing plant-parts plants not car/truck assembly) I see how things are done. I drive and LOVE my MOPARS, if there's something I don't like about my rides, I change it not the ride. My wife's car is a MOPAR and the engine check light keeps coming on, well after 6 visits to a dealership they finally fixed the problem by installing a complete new system. Most mechanics now a days only know what the computer tells them. Now I'm in the driver's seat on getting another MOPAR to replace the lemon, which time to time no one is perfect.

Now that I've ranted, it's time for you to fix the problem. Weither it's getting a toyota or fighting for what you paid(paying) for. Get it fixed correctly or DC to replace the 'lemon'. Simple.

i called Genos Garage, they are going to look into doing a stronger door that should not need "routine replacement"

I was going to install a stock flapper door, and use JB weld to strenghten it.
gotta see how much room is in there.

Hey, I see that you edited your previous post, I know I can get carried away with things.

I'm glad you're looking into fixing the problem. I haven't experienced any problems with mine so I can't give any strong advise........ What about adding a piece of plastic or metal to strenthen the door?? There's some strong glues out that could adhere the two. Or popriveting?? Again I'm going off what you just typed.

I apologize for my ranting, but I don't like to hear/read that someone is thinking of getting rid of a DODGE for a toyota.

Mine was OO warranty when the blend door went out.

Took it to a local "do it all" shop and they told me that the replsacement piece was a new all in one and was DC's answer to the (known) issue.

As you said winter was coming so I had it done and couldnt be happier. Of course the labor was a killer and was about 10 X's the cost of the part (part was around $50 an labour was around $480).

It now gets colder and warmer than it ever did, probably just becouse the air is actually getting to the cab rather than kickin around in the dash but worth the $ to me.

all good, no worries on DTR

i posted a question about Geno's doing a better door.

I dunno what to do:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=210483

for some silly reason, i thought i could do this in an afternoon,
looks like a 2 day project working by myself.

i need it fixed by Thursday (traveling Turkey Day)
we are having a grandbaby in VA next week (snowed up there already)
so i need the heat,
but the Wife says "all money must be conserved for the grandbaby"

so i guess i will do it when i get back.

FWIW, my daughter did the Lemon Law on her Chevy (call the Lawyer as soon as hits three times for same problem - don't waste your time)

the lawyer just had her fax records/receipts to the lawyer EVERY time it went in.

GM offered a "settlement" of ~$8000, lawyer capped 30% off the top, and they traded it in, and used the $$ as a down payment.

so it does work.
