another turbo question

My friend has an 05. His current mods are triple dog with scarry larry, gdp fuel boss, ats intake and exhaust manifolds, afe cai, magnaflow 5" exhaust, 4 autometer guages. By the end of th year he is getting a billet tranny, injectors (probally 150 hp flux's), and a turbo. He has decided to go with an htt 66 ss. He doesnt know whether to go with a 65 or a 71 wheel or a 13 or 16. I was wondering if i could get some input on these choices. advantages-disadvantages I myself dont know the difference between a 65 or 71 and 13 or 16. Thanks ahead of time

Depends on what he is going to do with the truck for all out track race truck 66/71/16 or 66/73/16 everyday driver street rod truck 66/71/13 the 71 is going to help keep drive pressures lower and will be stronger on the top end and once it spools the 71 builds boost a bit quicker then the 65. with the 65 wheel the turbo will spool a bit quicker but will fall flat on the top end . the 13 housing will spool a lot faster better for the street then the 16, but the top end will be a lot less less with the 13 , the 16 wails on the top end.

I am running a 66/71/16 ss at this time its a nice turbo I made 659HP & 1287 TQ on #2 not too bad ! this turbo gets down on the top end your buddy will want to eliminate the speed limiter cause it comes way too fast LOL

thanks for the info. I just talked to him and he is gonna go with a 66/71/13 ss. What kind of #'s could he expect with his current setup with that turbo and a billet tranny. He doesnt plan on adding the injectors till next summer.

blue chrome hit the nail on the head I second 550ish his big problem is he needs cp3 mod or better yet dual cp3s also a fass 150gph system is needed badly , his scary larry will drain the rail before he gets to max power!

he already has a gdp fuel boss. With scarry larry at wot the fuel pressure doesnt ever drop below 22 psi. The only guage he doent have is a rail pressure guage so i dont know what that is but it shouldnt be draining too badly, he snt running a pressure box
