Another "tow box" question....sorry guys

I'd like to know from you pro's if my idea of a perfect box even exists.
The only mods I'm comfortable with are a drop in filter, free flowing muffler, and a non-pressure box. Is there anything out there that has duration/timing only? I even think the XZT(scared of the pressure) would be a little too much for a stock auto truck. I really appreciate any input. Thanks.

ZXT all the way... Good and reliable... Any chip is going to require guages though... 65 hp doesn't seem like a lot but I will tell you having guages and monitoring your motor with a chip and without you will be astonished what 65 hp will do.. I don't think you can do damage like the bigger boys out there but it can take it's toll...

Better to be safe than sorry.. I think the DTR store is selling the commander and zxt chip as a package and it offers three settings to the zxt, 25, 45, 65. Good, safe, reliable power..

The Van Aaken C3.2 is a duration only box. It probably does some boost fooling too (can't remember ). It does not add timing or pressure...

Pretty much anything that you add, if you are towing, is going to kill your tranny. that being said, if you were to get a vb and tc upgrade, I would recommend going with the diablosport. You have lots of options the way it comes, and if you dont like what it has, you can get a licensed diablosport tuner to make you a custom program for it

I'm looking at van Aaken, but most think it runs hot. Is this a concern on the 50% setting?

It's not bad by itself and especially on the middle setting. The problem is when you stack it with something like the Quadzilla Race box. With both on high my 03 SO was awesome but those temps shot up to 1500 quick, and this was with the HTB2 turbo!! When I ran the stock turbo I did not have the heat issue. The 03 turbo doesn't push nearly enough air.....

Dodgezilla or anyone else, would the VA 3.2 stacked with XZT on an otherwise mosty stock truck require a new clutch or other improvements?

Homer, if you just want to stack them to get a little better throttle response then yes you will be fine. If you run them both and drive like a maniac then you will be needing at least a clutch really soon. That stack seems to fuel pretty hard on the bottom end, at least it did on my 03, and that's what will kill your clutch if you play too much.......

Try a VA 3.1 I've got one and it works great for towing and alittle playing too. It is about 65 hp and 200 ft lbs on the high setting. I very rarely tow on high though the middle setting works really well.

Buy a smarty you will love it pulls good alot down low power. But it will be good if you buy some gauges. You should be alright on tranny on low setting no more than 60hp on it. If you go more do a tranny upgrade to.
