Next time coat the plug threads with a little bit of antiseize. Steel plugs in aluminum pans are Notorious for sticking. I have dealt with a few so bad it took heat and a large breaker bar. Impact allen head socket will work good if you can get to it with the impact gun.

I talked to mag-hytec today. the allen is still the same size 3/16. so no luck with a bigger one. I have thought about antiseize but I am worried about it getting in the diff and being abrasive to moving parts.

Had the same issue on my diff - started stripping the Allen socket. So heated mine very briefly with a torch - then let it cool. (Old mechanic's trick for stuck bolts). Came off very easily.

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
And you only put a thin layer on the threads so none will be even close to getting in the diff.

I started using teflon tape on all pipe thread plugs, I got tired of having to really tighten them to get them to seal, the teflon tape means they don't have to be tightened as much plus it cuts out the dissimilar metal corrosion.
