another injector question for donM
when these injectors are released
will you have a way of testing the electronics of the injector before putting the time into replacing the nozzle
from other posts it seems that some may have bad injectors and dont know it

Most of the failures are internal parts problems. The solenoids are not failing much. I find most of the injectors with troubles ( some with as little as 5000 miles) have internal trouble I can fix right away.
I can pressure test them and check the solenoid operation, but I dont think that is as comprehensive as the Cummins test with the engine running.
For a nozzle swap I only take in new or used injectors from a running truck. If I receive junk...I send back junk. There are no parts available yet.

No I cant do it. There is limited testing equipment available and what is out there is too expensive to justify the cost.
The test I was talking about is done at Cummins or the Dodge dealer using their equipment. its not available to me.

it runs fine but I do get a little tick at cruising speeds that I didnt notice before
my idle sounds kinda weird compared to the older trucks
and after all the hoopla about ticking noises and leaking injectors and melting pistons and such, I get a little nervous

Yeah, there is a scare. Some of it seems to be nerves more than real problems.
The Duramax having injector troubles early probably added to the scare.
Most dealers in this area ( D/FW ) do not report to me they replace very many. I know several Cummins techs at Cummins and Dodge. They say it rare to have a bad injector.
