Another dreaded programmer question...

I am trying to decide which programmer to use on my 07. I do not intend to do heavy mods to this truck. I had the Triple Dog on my 05 and pretty much kept it on the tow/economy setting. The feature I most liked on that programmer was the "throttle response" enabled function. Really woke up the Cummins. I understand that Smarty leaves no footprint and the Triple Dog does. To sum it up, I want better economy and snappier acceleration without damage to stock drivetrain components and without the hassle of dealer issues because of a programmer. Thanks in advance.

I'm in the same boat with you, just got a used '06 and wanting the same.

edit: love to find something that had gauges, mild tuning, and no footprints

Smarty with analog gauges is the way to go.

Does the Smarty have a tow/economy setting and increased throttle response settings?

That's what I went with. A little more smoke than I'd like but Marco's supposed to release some new updates to address this situation. I've got the westach combo sitting in the SRT mono-pod setup.

The smarty doesn't have a specified level for towing, but they have variety. You can play with it and find the level you like. I like sw 5 for towing and everything else. Some use sw 3 and some people keep it cranked up. The smarty is good for everything. And like the Bully Dog, it has low end fueling.

could go quad xzt modual it only take 10 minutes to put on or take off. It will give you better throttle responce and power with better fuel economy. Once it's off the dealer hasn't a clue. Can't beat the cost neither.

The Smarty is not foolproof. If you have a bad Smarty download that messes up the ECM, you will leave a fingerprint running the recovery software sent to you by Bob. This will void your warranty. Been there.

Like quadman20 said, get a box that plugs in easily and you can remove it if you have to go in for warranty.

Smarty level 3 and quad commander or analoge gauges...drove mine like that for a year & 13k miles....plenty of throttle response, runs great, haul's a$$....no signs of wear on the stock transmission...

I've been perfectly happy with my Diablo Sport Predator. Just ordered a Quadzilla Commander that I intend to use only as gauges. Only problem with the Predator is that it does clear key counts but they are working on that.

Quad box.

How does the Quadzilla 65hp module achieve the power gain? Pressure or timing and duration?

the dealer will see that you have had the pred on there.i ran into that.luckly i new the service mgr so he said you might want to go with something else in thr near future just for warr.issuses and ur not local when it happens.I love the pred but im thinking the smarty is the best thing for not having to worry bout the dealers harrasing you.

The heaviest I've towed so far since having it is around 17k-18k(farm equipment on a 32ft dove). It did fine, and I never got into it too hard. It didn't need it.

What kind of power increase does the module give you? Is it adjustable or just a set power level? Is it kind to stock drivetrain components? I assume it doesn't leave a footprint either?
