Another Airdog question
I installed the Airdog 100 last summer and I'm getting the low fuel pressure warning chime at 1/4 tank. I have some questions. I read Fisherguy's Liberty canister mod thread, so I dropped the tank today to try it. Then, I realized I do not have the same canister as Fisherguy. I have pics below of my installation of the Airdog. What I want to do, and forgive me for my terminology, is plumb the airdog suction line to the canister's old suction line(the one on the left), and plumb the airdog's return fuel to the top of the canister. The bottom of my canister has a screen of somekind, which currently is full of slime or algae, so I was going to leave it off to allow more fuel to be drawn in from the draw straw that is already in the canister. It is going straight to the 2 micron filter on the airdog anyway. I will try and post the pics below.
[The pics below are of the removeable screen from the bottom of the canister.

I can't tell much from your pictures, they're pretty small.
Make the image full size at photobucket, then on the left side there'll be an IMG code, just click it, go to your post here and copy, it will put the coding in automatically and we'll be able to se the big picture.
You should be okay using the factory feed from the canister but you'll need the Dorman fitting then just modify the canister top for the new draw straw for the return.
I'd clean the screen out and leave it in.

I finished the mod today. I will let you know later how well it worked. I have pics in my photo album of my canister before the mod. I ordered the Airdog upgrade kit from Larry on the DTR store website. Got good, fast help from him, and I will deal with him more in the future. I only used some of the kit, due to my canister is not the same as the liberty canister. Mine is more enclosed. I drilled a 9/16 hole in the top of my canister for the airdog return. I used the original draw tube from the stock canister for my airdog to draw from, using the adapter from the kit to make this possible. The line on the left side of the draw nipple, I hooked back up to the factory line that was already there, I'm guessing that is a return from the cp3, fuel that is not used, but I really don't know. I will post the results later, I was unable to do much riding around to get a feel for success or failure yet.
Thanks for the input,
Chris
Oh yeah, my terminology sucks, I am not mechanically inclined. I like to stick to oil changes and that's about it.

Well I got to run the truck quite a bit yesterday. I ran well below 1/8th of a tank, with the fuel light on, and the overhead said I had less than 20 miles to empty, and I still had no low fuel issue problems. I was really relieved. Thanks for the input and opinions.
