Amsoil mileage....

Well yesterday was the first time I took my truck on any sort of drive since putting Amsoil in everything and installing the Amsoil 4095 on my K&N intake. Didn't really think that it would make the difference that it did. My truck runs a heck of a lot smoother, spools quicker and I think my mileage is up over 2mpg+ . (just going off my overhead) It usually reads 17-18mpg (after resetting and just cruising down the hwy) Last night it was consistently in the 20-21mpg bracket. Now on average it always reads about .5-1.5mpg low. Has anybody else noted a improvement like this after switching to sythentic?

The final test will be on the way home to OR from MD in July. On the way here it avg 18.5mpg (hand calculated).

Before I drained it out in the engine I think the dealer had Pennzoil. Usually when I changed it myself through I used delo 400 15-40. Always seemed to get slightly better mpg after the dealer changed it through.

I picked up a little mileage going from conventional 15w-40 Rotella to 15w-40 Amsoil full synthetic on my 1992 Dodge dually. Water temps also dropped a noticable amount. I do a lot of traveling and was able to make some good comparisons.

I did the same with my 2004.5. But I switched to synthetics around 10,000 miles and the mileage continued to go up bit by bit afterwards. I always took it easy and figure it wasn't broke in yet! It has over 40k now and I plan to try their 5w-30diesel synthetic.

I was talking with a fellow amsoil dealer a week or two ago. He was not trying to sell amsoil to me as he knew I was a dealer. He stated that his duramax picked up 3 mpg after changing everything to amsoil. I'm going to order some pml covers and change everything out in a month or two. We'll see how it goes. I'll report back with some results.

I never saw a mileage increase when I went to Amsoil, and I did both diffs, transmission, transfer case, and engine all at once. Dont get me wrong though it is the best oil out there in my opinion, I am just being honest on mileage numbers.

that`s wierd should have big enough to see a difference-even if it was small like 1/2 MPG...

I picked up 1-2 mpg in my toyota w/ amzoil
