Hello,
Definately good to hear that all are safe. I messed up and put the rubber mat over the carpet mats. So the rubber could move over time because the hook would not fit both mats. Kept the throttle pegged in snow once doing a 4 wheel drif in traffic. Holy crap. The other drivers thought I was nuts. Everyone please watch those mats.

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
I have rubber mats over the factory ones but mine have those little nubby things on the bottom and they do not move at all.

Funny...I used to have this same motor in my 85' yota. Used to BEAT on that thing like it stole from me. Couldn't kill it! Not too many rides out there that you can throw on a shackle lift and some 33's and pretty much follow anyone, anywhere (except the drag strip of course...)

Glad your OK but I sure would have liked to seen the look on the VW's drivers face, right after the look on yours ... I guess you showed them
I would think that your flex plate should definatley have a good look over, if anything it shows that these transmissions (even through aren't great) can still take a little bit of a beating...

I've got a shinny laminated flex siting in the spare bed room waiting to be installed. And yes I'm surprised the factory flex holds stock power.

Best to put in neutral since the computer shouldn't let it over rev. You will still have brakes and P/S then. Once truck is stopped then you can pull up the floor mat from gas pedal. Cummins engine computers will shut down the throttle if foot remains on the brake pedal when accelerating. Safety feature and it does work. I see this code when drivers are left footed brakers, since most keep foot on gas pedal and brake pedal at same time. I see this happening more and more these days when you see a car excellerating with the brake lights still on. To reset computer you need to stop and key off to reset computer. Code still remains stored in PCM.
