?? For all you Guys with Twins and TST
Can you guys with the TST and Twins run the box on 9/9? Just curious if the duration is still too long with huge amounts of air.
One more question, do you guys think that If I ran Nitrous on my truck, I would be able to run the TST all the way up? How much Nitrous?

I haven't run them on an '03 but an HY set of twins will control EGTs to well over 500hp.
You should be able to tow with the box on kill depending on injectors.
FWIW,

I'm curious as well... Will more turbo eliminate the popping and missing you get on the higher settings. When I dynoed mine I actually lost power above level 7 on the HP side. I know I'm not running out of fuel at the CP3, after that I don't know...

I don't run mine on 9/9 because it's just too much duration. As mentioned, you will lose HP over a certain level. The HP drop and associated popping is due to the rail pressure dropping. It's stictly a fuel supply issue via the CP3 pump and rail... nothing to do w/ the turbochargers. Having said that, a set of properly setup twins can burn all the CP3 has to offer and do it with very manageable EGTs. I'm waiting on some head studs before I play with the N20 more, but 600 hp is going to be easy. I've only run it with two different jets on the dyno, so I still have a lot of tuning and playing to do, but it seems to respond well with the small jet I have in there now. IMO the really large gains seen on 12V and 24V trucks aren't going to be possible because of the limited fuel output.

I figured it wasn't that the fuel rail wasn't flowing enough but that the CP3 just can't pump enough. Is there anybody modifying the CP3's yet or are they just saying "tuff luck"...

Good power is found on HP #5, TQ #0.
Don't make your CP3 pump alot of fuel when you don't have boost, this empties the rail even sooner.
There's no Hot Rod CP3 available yet, but Piers is working on one.
There is no need for bigger injectors on an '03 yet, since the TST box can open the injectors long enough to drain the rail. Bigger injectors only make that problem worse.
Untill a HRCP3 comes out, bigger injectors are only a step backwards.

I think the best idea, and probably the most expensive way is to make that CP3 pump all the fuel we need, er, want .
we could get a bigger fuel rail, but I think that is similar to a band aid, however, a bigger fuel rail with a bigger pump would be the setup to go with.
I think longer crank times would be only one of the side effects of a bigger rail.

Merrick, why is it that sometimes, the truck will run the best on level 5, and sometimes best on 7? It runs out of fuel at different stages, and if you let the turbo spool up and then turn the TST up, it won't cut out at all... Also what does the TQ setting on the TST adjust? It seems it only adjust how strong, and what boost level the power comes on.

I read these threads sometimes and begin laughing uncontrollably. The theories and mis-info is......unbelieveable at times. OTOH, maybe they are just a figment of someones overactive imagination.
I hate to see big bucks wasted by anyone, but oftentimes the imaginative not the subtinative products sell best.

Sorry bout that fellers. Dont mean to step on anyones toes. Most of the info in this thread is incorrect. Thats all I meant. The internet is not a private means of transmission. I cant really say...."hey thats all wrong and here is why"
I can just say, "hey thats all wrong" Until I do something else for a dollar anyway.

LOL @ Gypsyman
So, Don~.... what part of this is soooo laughable? It has been proven by many that 550ish HP is about all you can get out of a 3rd gen on #2 only. We know the stock rail pressure, we know the pressure with a box, and many have measured the vastly dropped pressure when cranking the TST boxes. We know that HP drops with too much duration, and it can be easily seen with a gauge, too. The DMAX guys run into the same problem we do only at a slightly higher HP level. Of course, they have a slightly larger rail system as well as slightly more rail pressure, so they hit the wall a little later. The next step is clearly increasing the volume of pressurized fuel, increasing the size of the supply lines, and then increasing the pump capacity. I guess that's laughable tho. Maybe your injectors magically make the whole issue go away

I can turn the TST up to 9/9 and never lose any power. It just goes up the higher the setting. Even the older and more aggressive TST boxes work great and never lose any power. From 550 on 4/4 to 613 on 9/9. Hmm.....I need to rush out and get me a rail and bigger pump soon. Mines just to small
Maybe this new HOT ROD CP3 will work like the HOT ROD VP pump. Adding nothing.
