??? For all You Dry Air Filter.....
Guys and Gals. Has anybody tried cleaning theirs? How many miles before cleaning? What are your guys thoughts on these things so far? Any noticeable benefits?
I'll post my thoughts, results later.

I have an amsoil 6"x11" filter and I just blow it out with an air hose every 500-1000 miles. I haven't actually cleaned it like with water and stuff yet. They say wait till like 10-20k miles to do that. As driving conditions call for it.

I am happy with my amsoil dry...I have only cleaned it once......it does not go back to the bright blue that it was new but I dont think it matters..and it's not clogged thats for sure.
I have been running one on my Mazda...with one of my homemade intakes of course and the hood of the car has some damage..well it let's the snow, rain, grime, road salt, butterflies, gravel you name it...I have had zero issues with it...I have cleaned it once in about 25k but I have had zero problems
I am happy

Since we switched over to the dry filters we are using, I have one that we have not cleaned at all and it has not let any dirt by at all.
What I like about them personally is that when I have 5 extra minutes I can take mine out and bang it our or blow it out and stick it back on. You cannot do that with an oiled filter.
I do not feel they filter better or worse than an oiled filter. I also do not think there is any measurable difference in flow and I have shown that on the dyno.

Iv got an Amsoil Iv had on mine for the last year and a half and
clean it every 1000 miles or so.
The last time I did it, it looked like it was brand new.
Very little junk in it.
Im very happy with it.

one of the coolest things about my aem is being out on a dry, dusty trail and just popping the filter off and banging the dirt and dust off while the wash and oil crowd look on in amazement. the kore guys who run two cummins at baja swear by aem.
