Smile Airdog 150 Or 100?

I'm ready to buy an Airdog but not sure if the 100gph will be enough. I plan on taking the truck to the 500-550 hp range. I really want to use the 100gph pump because I can use the stock pick up and won't have to drill the tank or deal with the problems sucking air and running out of fuel when under 1/4 tank. You guys think 100gph will push enough fuel for 500-550 hp? I see the guy from Mid Atlantic diesel has a 150gph and he's making 1200HP so I tend to think 100gph should be fine for 500-600hp.
Thanks for your help

The 100gph version should suit you fine. I am aiming for 500-550 too and will more than likely go with this one also.

I have been pondering this same exact question. I am glad you asked Super googan. The 100 kit seems so much easier to install.

Thanx.

on the 03 and 04 trucks with the filter mounted pump, the 100 is super easy as it does not require the dropping of the tank. On the 05 and newer trucks and past years with the in tank pumps, you will be dropping the tank either way for the draw straw.

IMO go with the 150. Last I remeber it hooked up the same as the 100 to the tank. But, the 100 will support 550 no problem.

The problem is that Charlie said the 04.5 stock pickup isn't big enough to support the 150s flow rate--it would cause the pump to cavitate because the pickup is too small. That's why the 150s require the draw straw which can lead to starvation below 1/4 tank.

I went with the 100 so I can use the stock pickup and not worry about running out of fuel at 1/4 tank. I don't have plans to go over 500 HP anyway

I'm running the AirDog 100 gph with a bypass regulator set at 25 psi. through the stock pick up. I'm making 600 hp and the pressure doesn't drop below 23-24 psi. So the 100 gph must be good for 600 hp or maybe a bit more.

I know it will because on my 01 at over 500 RWHP I couldn't get the FP guage to budge. But they're the same price.

I've ordered the 150fp, so I'll have to drop the tank and also remove the stock pump, or add the straw and just ignore the stock pump?

Is there a way to correct the 1/4 tank problem?

I run mine down to 1/8 tank with my air dog. I think the biggest thing is installing the drawstraw at the right height

I've always run my truck to empty......why mix new fuel with old fuel left in the tank? I'm I messing something up by running all the fuel out? I've never run out of fuel just really empty!!
