I suppose there could be. If you were worries you could fab up a shield/box for it. the bottom of the stock box is gone as well so there is a bumch of air comming up from behind the front bumper.

I'm currently running my own OEM modified box and an Amsoil filter. I also have a Scotty V waiting for me to get a new filter before installing it.

D45 if you haven't already. get rid of the rubber flap to the left of hte intercooler, it blocks flow to your intake..... your truck may or may not have it depending on build date. drops incoming air temp.
