Air Filters..The Stock Ones!

Been searching and trying to find out specs on stock replacment air filters and have found out that there is not a whole lot of information to be found. Just wondering if anybody is still running the stock air filter & box in their truck. If so what band air filter have you found that you are most happy with? I've been leaning towards either the Fleetguard AF26106 at Gino's or the NAPA/Wix 42846 for my 04.5 3500. I'm not looking at doing any after market mods at this time to the air intake system....I've been told to stay away from the Mopar Air Filter..Any & all suggestions are welcomed. THANKS!

Just ordered the Amsoil EAA189 Air Filter. Suppose to fit in the stock air box and have better flow and life than paper filters. Have not received it yet, so cannot say if I am happy with my choice or not.

I have been running the Amsoil eaa189 filter also. I am happy with it. I have about 5k-6k on it and the filter minder has not moved yet. I could pull the filter minder down with the stock filter when it was new.

I had the Amsoil Ea 189 for about 50,000 miles. It preformed well. Darn dealer replaced it with a Mopar unit and tossed it out.

I have an Amsoil EAA189 also but I'm constantly pulling the filter minder down. Thinking about upgrading to a full intake.

I would like to know what is wrong with stock filter. If the pull down indicator shows quicker doesn't it mean it is filtering better ? I too have only used stock.

I run the AMSOIL drop in also. I still have my stock one, for dealer trips. Which hasn't happened in the 13 months that I've had my truck.

I changed the filter on mine to a Amsoil dropin and am very pleased with the results.
I noticed a 50* drop in EGT temp after installing it.
I had a Airraid oil type filter that came with a sticker warning not to change the filter.
Been to the dealer twice for maintenance and they havent bothered the filter.

For now I use the k&N drop in, so far no dirt in the tube and doesn't pull down the minder.
