After market intercoolers

it depends on what you do with the truck. I bought a BD a few years ago and I think it was 50% bigger. Which definitely helped with temps, but it hurt spool-up some. You should keep this in mind when choosing.

As far as advice goes I cant help you. But check out Hellmann Performance for another option. He custom makes all his own and a friend of mine runs it and has no complaints. His truck is 750HP+ (Im pretty sure anyway)

Mike:
I have Scheids Intercooler in my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve and am very happy with it. I am at about 850 H.P. right now.

What are you doing with it?
If its 1/4 mile racing I am not sure you'll see much a difference with it. If you tow regularly above 40psi then you might see a difference on the hills, but probably not on the flats.
The stock cooler gives me 6-12* above ambient with my intake mods, and never more than +45* over stock, even at sustained 30-35 psi of boost, with the a/c on on a 85*+ day. Thats pretty darn good for stock.
Now if its an 05 with the plastic end tanks, then upgrade away!
I would probably look at the Hellman or Banks (crap electronics, but decent coolers).

Unless you monitor IAT's you probably won't notice the difference, especially with your stock turbo. If an aftermarket IC were to get me the max difference from the stock turbo I would see at most a 75* reduction in EGT's, but to assume an IC will make 30+ psi of boost ambient temp is silly, so maybe a 30* EGT reduction.
Now if your running twins, and towing at 40-60 psi then maybe.

I was told by a well known shop that unless you're over 900hp, a stock ALUM. ic does the job. Save your $$$$ to buy some other goodies. I paid around $250 for a '06used alum. ic....actually the '06 is a tad bigger too.

No offense to you Sir, but I totally disagree with what that "well known shop"
told you about aftermarket vs stock intercoolers! I was nowhere near 900 H.P. when I bought my aftermarket Scheid Intercooler and it made a big difference on my EGT's. At the time I was around 675-700 H.P.

I bought my Spearco after I blew my SPS62 and didn't have a warm fuzzy feeling about what was hiding inside of the stocker and didn't wanna mess with trying to clean it out, with my Spearco I dropped about 100*

I was watching my EGT's coming to work this morning and with cruise set at 68 MPH, 1950 RPM's and it was 42* on my overhead my EGTs were sitting at 625*, running the badlands of New Mexico "flat"... other wise they run 750 on average. it's been awhile but I'm pretty sure they used to run around 800 to 850* with the stocker. The overhead milage lair was reading 25 MPG!!!

On 3rd gen engines its been documented by 2 different companies the for every 1* rise/drop in IAT you get a 1.5* rise/drop in EGT's. So for a 200* drop the IAT would have to be 133* lower. Even at 35 psi of boost the IAT's aren't 133* above ambient with the stock IC, they are about 40* above ambient max.
Those EGT's sound about like mine are.
