If someone built one that was made to accomodate the TAG or TAG II (the Afe Torque Tube does NOT), I would be the first in line. Make it stainless and it would be all the better!!!

For the life of me I can't remember who it was, but there is a guy here that is running the TAG with the torque tube. He said it was a bear getting the TAG inserted into the tube. If I remember correctly, he positioned the TAG at the turbo inlet and pushed the rubber elbow over it and into place on the turbo. Very tight fit. He said he checked it after 500 miles and it stayed right where it was suppose to be. If I can find that thread I'll post a link to it.

I just ordered a Torque Tube from Diesel Performance Parts for $80 along with a AFE intake. They told me it would be dropped shipped from AFE but didn't give me a time frame.

For those with the AFE Torque Tube, is there any advantage to the Torque Tube over a home made tube that we are not seeing?...other than color coordinated.

I just ordered two 4" rubber 90's from the big truck shop, $21 bucks CND. I will put a short length of 4" stainless in between them. THis should do the trick.

do the "rubber thingies" have a recess on each end so the ID (bore) is smooth all the way through and at the transition from pipe to "thingy" and "thingy" to turbo?
Does the AFE torque tube have this?

Jt, so you won't be using the 90 deg. stainless bends you had made?
I haven't taken my stock system apart yet, but I wonder if it's possible to make a continous single piece of the proper length with the two 90 deg. bends in it? Seems like that would be fairly straight forward. Why are we bothering with these couplings?

Torque Tube
Moning Members,
I haven't figured out why the pricing is so high out there. We sell the Torque Tube. Currently we are out of stock on them but awaiting orders from AFE. If you need some call us and we'll get you on the list ASAP.

The distance from the turbo inlet to the air filter outlet is only 10.5". It is barely enough distance to make the bends.
$89.99 is much cheaper then the $120,00 I have seen. It almost not worth th eeffort to make it myself.
