AFE or S&B ?

Which intake kit is better? And why ? I'm looking at the AFE stage 2 and the S&B.

The deal is that I can get a AFE stage 2 from my brother for a $150. Or I can buy a high flow drop in for $50 and cut a 4" hole in the bottom of my stocker. I have smarty jr and a commander coming. Do you think the AFE will do me any good since I'm only running the jr?

If you can get an AFE for less than a new S&B what's to think about?
(I wouldn't pay what the AFE go for new though...)

The AFE intake would be a good buy at that price & they do sound Great but really offer NO improved performance over a good drop in filter. I've tried many CAI's with NO improvement from any of them.

Thats what I've wondering!!! It makes more sense for an intake if you have a larger turbo or running a big tune. Has anybody done any data logging on cold air intakes? Looking at how much degrees over ambient the intake air is vs what the stock box does. How about dyno results?

PSM has done dyno testing & data logging with several CAI systems & the Stock airbox with a cold air kit. Guess what comes out on top every time. Here is a link to there web site & tests can be found there.

I knew it!! I learned the same thing with dmax. I think I can make my own after looking at those pictures. Does anybody know where I can get that blue intake hose hose or something simular?
