AFE has stage 1 and stage 2.
You can get the 5 layer filter or 7 layer (pro guard) with either intake.

The 5 layer flows more air, but the 7 layer is better for dusty environments.

dodge6speed03,

We selll both everyday here at DPPI, but we STRESS the PG7 as it stops the dirt and a diesel uses 8-10 times more air than a comparable gas engine and you need to stop the dirt for them even more than gas!

If you hold the 5 layer up to the light you can see through it.
Also, the 5 layer will have an inverted cone inlet at the top of the filter for increased air flow.
The ProGuard 7 cannot be seen through and does not have the top inverted opening.

Warranty and the diff in PG7

Warranty is a real good question and one I can't really answer. We sell to Dealers all the time, they warranty it!! Some don't it really depends on the dealer.

Technically by the Magnuson Moss warranty Act it does not void the warranty, btu each dealer plays by their rules.

You can tell a PG7 as it'll be a yellow/gold color, the 4 layer will be blue, some of the older ones are red.
