AFE intake question
Hey guys I am coming across a AFE air intake for free off a pickup that was wrecked. I am told it is a stage 2 intake. Is there anything bad about these? Do they filter enough so I wont dust my motor, and do they whistle alot in the cab? Thanks in advance.

I hope they filter enough, as I have one in my truck. And yes they whistle in the cab. Alot? well to me its almost annoying enough to take out. To my son its the greatest thing I could have done. cant hear it with the radio on. I am hoping my engine is enjoying the extra air more then I dislike having my truck make noise. If its free, I say try it. took me about 30 min to get it outa the box and in my truck. 45 mins tops, thats with having to figure out how it fit, which it did fit very well, I was amazed. At first look I said it was never going to go in there.

I think it's a great system. Ran one with a PG7 filter (the yellow one) for a couple years on my '03.
Blackstone Labs always gave me good numbers on my oil samples. Less than 5ppm silicon usually.
