Afe Filter
Just put on a AFE air pro guard 7 system on with Torque tube. I have a couple questions. How do you know if they put the pro guard 7 filter on and not the regular AFE. Can you see the difference? Also the Torque tube that was put on is all black plastic. The one that I see on AFE's website is gray powder coated metal. Did I get the wrong tube?. Is there a difference. Should I worry if the one I got works fine. Or should I return it for the metal tube? I have the 2004.5.

New AFE Stage II
You must have the new AFE Stage II intake system. Is the torque tube all one piece? Is this it?
This is my AFE Magnum Force with the gray powder coated torque tube.

You want plastic, no metal piping in your intake system, metal conducts the heat from under the hood and defeats the whole idea of an intake mod.
Cooool Air is what you are trying to achieve with good airflow.

I bought the AFE pre-filter when I bought the AFE Intake Kit. I am local to www.performancediesel.com. I dont remember how much it was and they seem to have a web site problem getting the page at this time.
www.genosgarage.com has them:

My standard AFE filter that came with the AFE Magnum Force air intake system was yellow/tan, I thought the ProGard 7 was blue.
The yellow has turned to mostly black at 16000 miles. Guess its time to clean and re-oil it. Did not notice until I took off the pre-filter to wash it.

Well after reading this thread I went and dug out the invoice and instructions that came with my Magnum Force Air Intake system for 04.5 Ram HO Cummins 600. It seems I only thought I ordered the system with the standard filter.
The pack slip and instruction sheet part list:
Filter & Clamp(PN 24-91009 or PN 72-90009 Pro-GUARD 7 Version). It is yellow.
That is why I thought yellow filters were standard and not Pro-Guard 7. I guess I got a better deal than I thought, $290 for Air Intake system with Pro-Guard 7 filter and AFE Pre-Filter.
My BAD, should have read a little closer when I installed it.
