My apologies, the Nelson muffler is 27" overall length with 4" dia. The body is 9" dia and 20" lg. Nelson 86560M is available at any Fleetguard dealer. There is just enough room for this Nelson and an AeroTurbine 4040L leaving the cat in place.

Do you have any pictures? Any issues lining up the 4040L and 86560M with the tail pipe?

Are these kits back in stock? How about if I add a Nelson in with the Areo-Turbine, will it line up level with your off-set pipe? Should I put the Areo-Turbine up next to the CAT, then the muffler?

Given the choices, is it best to take the cat out and mount the Aero-turbine where the cat is and go straight pipe from there? I'm not too worried about DOT because we have the most relaxed traffic laws up here and if it's too loud (yeah right) then I can put a muffler where the original one used to be. Does this sound about right?
Thanks

That has a nice ring to it...
Senator Questad
Maybe it is time for a career change!
My political stance would be:
Elimination of all fuel tax
Increasing all speed limits for diesel powered vehicles
Tax deductions for all performance modification expeditures
blah blah blah...this list could go on for ever!
How many voting age DTR memebers are there?

Installed my Aeroturbine 4040L today and LOVE IT! Can't imagine why I would need a muffler behind it. I bought my kit from http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/exhaust2 and it came with absolutely everything needed and then some. I placed it right behind the cat (enough pipe in the kit in case your cat falls off) so I had leftovers. A snap to install with a nifty mid pipe hangar attaced to one of the enclosed muffler clamps. Started the bad boy up, and I could not tell the difference at idle. Took it about 10 miles out of town to a long, lonesome, straight away road and put the pedal to the metal. I could tell that it had a bit more pick up in performance without the big ugly, restrictive stock muffler. a bit louder, but hardly anything to mention. There is a 2004 Dually like mine on the aeroturbine site with a sound clip......very accurate I must say. The guys at DPP put together a great kit! I'm sure one could get away with just straight piping their rig as long as you leave the cat alone if you wanted to open your exhaust on the cheap with a muffler elimination pipe and keep the noise level in check. No guages yet so I can't tell you about EGT's......all I have for mods is the aeroturbine and the AFE Drop in filter. Guages are the next mod.

Stan,
I sure will. I will be taking a trip down and back to Seattle tonight (200 miles round trip) I will be able to report hiway miles by tomorrow. The best I ever got was 17 on on the highway at a steady speed of 70 mph on the same route down there......a bit of stop and go on the way due to traffic congestion and expect the same this trip.
First time down had about 4K miles on the truck.....this time I have over 7K miles on it......never had the reflash, not going to get it......still breaking truck in with the help of a 10K LB haul every now and then. More to follow..........
