I think some of it is where you put the muffler in relation to the cab, like stated above. It may also have something to do with mods and insulation of the cab. I love mine.

Donaldson 51" amazing,...no drone at all, and 5" electric butterfly valve dump and y pipe before it, so I get the noise when I want it!
