AEM Brute Force
It appears to me that AEM has reinvented a performance air filter in the form of a DRYFLOW Synthetic air filter—the first performance air filter that does not require oiling to filter and trap dirt and contaminants!
Is anyone running one of these? My mechanic buddy tells me that filters, such as K&N, do more damage to your motor than good because they have to be oiled and that oiled crap eventually gets sucked into the motor. Apperantly the dryflow from AEM does not need to be oiled. What do you guys think?

FWIW - Recent Oil Analysis (approximately 4800 mile interval) on AEM Dryflow (P/N 21-2059DK) indicates filtering is working - silicon levels well below normal. This is on a 99 Dodge Cummins modified for around 360-380 ponies. It does whistle more when putting the hammer down.
