Be more specific for what you are wanting to do with them.

A5k VS HT3B

I'm considering,.... depending on what I find out on the Nasty Nine thread I started, ... if the A5k would be as good as the HT3b for the big turbo in a twins setup since I already have that turbo. I'd like to be spooling better without boost braking and have more top end power.

I don't know the specs or cfm flow of each for a comparison. I suspicion for extra cooling and even more top end power that the HT3B may be preferable. Not sure about that and that's why I'm asking the quesiton.

I would think it would work great...might swap the turbine housing to ATS' twins version, but it should be as good or better than a HT3B!

Yes Yes... I am wondering the same thing??? will a HT3B flow more than an A5k...Will twins setup such as a A3k/A5k make more or less power than a A5k by itself???

Horsepower wise the twin setup will probably make about the same power as the single but the twin setup will net you better egt's and spool up etc.

On ATS's website, it says that the Aurora 5000 will flow by itself 1316 CFM, while the Aurora twin setup will flow 1708 CFM( I dont know if this is with the Aurora 3000 or 2000 on the top)

Anyone know the flow rate of a HT3B?

hope this helps

It depends on the wheel but the biggest ones are in the low 90lb/min range typically. The turbine side of the HT3B is a lot larger than the A5K though.

1) Is the Nasty Nine/HT3B a good,... very good,... forget it,... setup for 700-800hp rig?

2) Is there a benefit to going with 4" cold pipes over 3" on the abv type rig?

It will be nice to get your input Nathan.

So what are you thinking and how does the A5k play out in your future setup?

Maybe something bigger to go with the A5k? Maybe a smaller housing on the A5k...change the A/R to something smaller?

Pourin' said there are tons of housings available right? Where?

That's interesting. So you're saying mod the exh side down a bit and use the A5k for the small turbo and match it up with what,... B2,... Big Brother or what?

I want spool...at least a little better that the A5k alone...and more room on the top...a lot more room for another 200 hp or so than my current. That's the plan.

I absolutley love the way the A5k spools from 10 psi and up. Say cruising at 2,000 rmps...mat the pedal, it takes 1 second to almost peg my 60 psi boost gauge. I want that kind of spool from 1600 rpms...then more top end flow.

I drive high altitude...and tow to much to have those ideal situations to make just a big single work...IMHO.

Big Brother rock on!
