5" Magnaflow Cat-back
I put a 5" cat-back Magnaflow exhaust on my truck a week ago. I have driven with the windows down for a week because is sounds great.
The exhaust is obviously louder but not irritating at all. The sound is mellow and smooth at all RPM. It gets a little boomy right at 2000 RPM under some load but never harsh or raspy. It sounds freakin great at WOT! I must have wasted a half a tank of fuel this week I particularly like easy acceleration with windows down, it's real deep and rumbling.
I thought the tone was a little high at first but I like it now. I sure love hearing the exhaust over the injectors.
Now all I have to do is ditch the kitty, unfortunately the CA enviro-***** are going to require me to smog check my truck. As soon as I figure out if I have to get the check this year or at 5 years I can put in a bypass pipe.
Anyone know if the diesels get the 5 year to the first inspection?

Thanks, I like it better the more I drive it. I'm still driving around with the windows down to listen to the sound, a little frosty at times but the sound is great.
I found that we the lucky diesel owners do not get the 4/6 year exemption from smog checks from the date of purchase, as all gas cars do. I still have my cat but it obviously does very little now. But I cannot remove it and make the vehicle more efficient, that would make to much since for environmentalists.

I have the 4" magnaflow pro turbo back system on my truck. The sound is alot smoother and deeper after a few thousand miles. Unloaded, you can only really hear it under hard accel but it does start to sound off above 75mph. With the camper in tow, it is very loud under accel and will drone if you lug it down in overdrive. Towing at 65-70mph in overdrive, it is the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard without being too much on a long haul.
