which 5" exhaust is best
ok... 5" exhaust time... turbo back... plan to run muffler... which is best
silverline 5" MBRP 5" OR MAGNAFLOW 5"?? WOULD like some pics of 5" with a 5" turndown or 6" turndown also... think it would look neat due to not being done as much and reduce smoke trail on towed items

I was told and have read that either mbrp or magnaflow has a muffler in their 5" that chokes down to 4" and back to 5"... that would not be desirable...

I have the magnaflow 5inch turbo back it is a great kit. The muffler is 5 inches straight through. It fits really good to ,took me about 45mins on my back by myself to put it on.

Another Vote For The Magnaflow #15989.
I purchased a 325/610 cast iron elbow and hung a #15989 on my 2003 RAM 2500 305/555 truck.
Great system........installs nicely straight out of the box with ease.

ive got dps 5". the pipe is ok but for how much I wash my truck it looks like its been on there for 5 years. I clean my truck alot. my muffler is a diamond eye and I like it. it has deep tone and took most of the noise out of the cab. ive seen the diamond eye exhaust on another members truck on here it looks like a nice kit. my buddy has expandit on his truck and it still looks good after like 3 years, the stuff still looks like new

I was VERY happy when my Diamond Eye system showed up. Very nice fit and finish, welded muffler, all hardware and hangers included. The downpipe is 5" right off of the turbo. You can literally roll a softball from the turbo all the way out the tailpipe.
The system practically installed itself (I cheated: had the trans and xfer case out at the time while installing Goerend goodies), but I had no clearance issues at all. All factory mounting spots were utilized with well made hangers. I would recommend springing for some band clamps instead of using the crush clamps that come with the system.
The sound is exactly what I was looking for. Sounds like a deep, performance exhaust, but not obnoxious or obtrusive.
I've heard the following exhuast systems in person, and here is my subjective order of loudness: Straight Pipe, MBRP, Magnaflow, Diamond Eye, Donaldson, and Stock. Seems to me that the 5" systems sound a little deeper and more mellow than the 4", but that's subjective. Sound changes depending on how much fuel you are putting to it...

mbrp 5"
mbrp drops of the turbo a 4" and steps up to 5" under the pass door, the muffler is a strait threw and looks to be a 6" diameter. no bottlenecking 5" all the way out, i have had it about a year with no problems still looks great and you cant beat the 5" sound.
