4th gear shiftpoint how to?
Does anyone know how to overide the stock electronics to provide on demand 4th gear on a 03? it has a wire tap like the good ol orange/black wire for lockup but grounding the proper wire (brown) puts the trans in limp mode like the lockup trick does for the o3. i am trying to get a 2800 rmp shift on the track, but the computer will not let the trans shift to 4th under wot until 33-3400 rpm, which as you guys know is way to high, as i am loosing time with this holding on to third gear. Any help would be appreciated.

The full throttle shift points are controlled by the computer. You can try adjusting the TV cable to bring it down but it probably will only help the part throttle shifts.

Dodgezilla, Its not the TV cable, that only controls 1-2,2-3. I have that right on 2800, because when I put the vb in it raised it to 3100 rpm. the 3-4 is only contolled by the computer which tells it to never shift into 4th at WOT. Like why would most people want to, a few of us might.

That's what I thought Sporttruck. I haven't paid attention to where mine shifts into OD but my -12 and 2-3 shifts are at 3150 rpms with my VB. Maybe they don't want you to blow up the OD unit and that's why there is no adjustment. Did you try calling BD? They could probably tell you if it's possible to adjust.
By the way, How does the truck hold up to stacking boxes? I'm looking for more power but I don't want to start having problems. Any idea what the fuel rail pressures are with the two boxes stacked? Man your truck is fast! Is it an HO or SO?

No i do not know how my fuel pressure, that is my next investment.my wife is getting me a DD pusher pump for my b-day. I will get the guage also, but i figure i might as well put on the pusher pump because we know it cannot be to good. But i never see the smoke entirely go away or a hp decrease all the way down the 1/4 mile. But 1 time I did try a level 7-6 and that slowed me down and heated things wAY up! So i figure im so-so ok right now. I do not seem to be hurting anything. I have been stacking boxes for 4 months now. Do you know the results of 0 psi? is it just a loss of power or the possibility of running things dry all together thus burning down a piston? Unlike prior comments about exxesive pressure mixed with duration/timing box, my truck is fasted on level 4 of the edge, every setting got faster by appox 1/10 of a second. As i wrote somewhere else, i have ran this truck down the track about 75 times. 13.94 is my current average, with a best run of 13.90 flat. And it varies up to a 14.00.

Nobody makes a programmer for this??
I know somebody with a 02 Suburban, and he has a programmer that can plug into the truck, and change the shift firmness and shift point.
We can't get something like this???

He probably has a Hypertech Power Programmer. I don't think they have one yet for our trucks. I had one on my 95 Trans Am and it was pretty cool that you could adjust shift points for each gear.
They are working on one for our trucks but when I contacted them a few months ago they said they were a long way off from having it available to us..
