Are you going to pay somebody to pull it back out, ship it back to Iowa or Michigan, wait for repair, then they ship it back to you, pay to have reinstalled....all while your truck is down?

You better at least have a Goerend's or HTS authorized "installer" put it in.

My recommendation is to go with your transmission of choice (mine was DTT) and have a LOCAL TO YOU trans builder/installer do the work. That way if there is a problem then you have someone to turn to and hold accountable.

You wouldn't want the installer (non-authorized or even yourself) pointing fingers at the trans........or the trans co pointing fingers at the installer. My 2 cents.

Nope I haven't. I know Dave is awesome so please don't take my post to be a slam on him or Dusty. I don't recall ever reading a bad word about either one of them. If I lived closer to them im sure I would have taken my truck to their shop and had one or the other of them do the work.

It's just my opinion that I want the trans guy I deal with to be close enough to me that, in the unlikely event something goes wrong....it can be dealt with there by the guy who built it/installed it.

Mine was built by James Northum of Midlothian, TX, who builds DTT Trans....but is also an authorized Goerend's Trans installer.

You might also check out Advanced Transmission ATO in Rancho Cordova. I've not used them but have heard from diesel performance folk that they're good, and local.
