48re / 06 / Mega Cab / Valve Body Opinions???

Did A Transgo Kit..it Sucks...messy Mushy Shifts. Too Much Time Spent Hunting In Between Shifts. Im Looking For The Firmest Shift Available. Will Yank Valvebody And Purchase One Already Done. Any Suggestions And Why?
Thanks For The Heads Up In Advance...

I've been very happy with my Goerend for 25k miles now. He doesn't just do a kit of springs and such. He actually does some machiining to the actual body. Plus he's a great guy.

I am so far enjoying my Hts VB. I will have the rest of my tranny done in a few weeks. Just the VB greatly enhanced the drivability and firmed up shifts alot. Can't wait for the rest of it.

DTT!!!!
Just had a VB put in and its all over but the crying. No hunt at all and it holds the gear longer so you don't freewheel and slam a gear when you have to go again!

I have a transgo kit in my 47RE and it is as firm as firm can be. I have the line preasure set at the max (5 turns) and I had to play with the springs, but it works like a dream. Call the 800 number, their customer support is really good.

I DID CALL. THIER RESPONSE WAS THAT IT WAS PRETTY MUCH DESIGNED TO KEEP SOFT SHIFTS BUT TO BUILD LINE PRESSURE FOR LACK OF SLIP IN LOCKUP. MY 47 RE SHIFTS ARE ROCK HARD AND FIRM AS WELL. I LOVE IT. I THINK THE 48RE KIT IS JUNK. IF TRANSGO IS TRYING TO KEEP APPEAL FOR SOCCER MOMS, IT WILL BE THE LAST KIT I BUY FROM THEM.

We offer a valvebody that will definately have firm shifts, but not to the point of worrying about damaging anything. Or if you want it to knock your head through the back window we can build one to do that as well

WELL, THE BD VALVE BODY "TURNED ALL THE WAY UP" WAS A MOVE BACKWARDS. FEELS EXACTLY LIKE THE STOCK VALVE BODY..
PRESSURES 1-2 AND 2-3 SHIFT ARE HIGHER. REST IS ECACTLY THE SAME...

Call Dave Goerend or DTT. They will setup a valve body exactly how you want it.

I had a Transgo installed in my trans and it shifts very firm. I wonder what you did differently than my installer. Did you put that plate in that they sell? What about the accumulator and servo? Maybe you have alot of leakage inside the trans. What are your pressures at?

77# At Idle...

88-90# 1-2 And 2-3 Shifts

85# 3-4 Shift

135# In Lockup....

These Are With The Bd Valvebody, My First Vb (transgo Kit), Pressures Were Slightly Higher, But It Was Hunting And A Very Busy Shifter On Grades Under Heavy Map.

Im About To Give Up On This And Build My Own Vb. Ill Take The Accumulator Springs Right The Heck Out...lol

I Like The Line Pressure, And Lockup Holds Fine. I Just Want A Positive/firm Shift Like I Have With The 47re In My 03...

Questions....comments?
