Most 5" systems are aluminized, Magnaflow claims they are releasing a stainless version soon.

Full 4" !?!?!?!? Not Likely

As per what I said before about going to the "04.5+ pacbrake and a full 4" system. MBRP dosen't sell a true 4" turbo back kit. They make up to and including a cat delete for the "04.5+ systems, that you have to use the original downpipe with. I asked for, and bought a 409 stainless system with a matching Pacbrake, and the only way they could make parts match was to give me the "03 (4" in to 3.5" out) pacbrake and the "03 MBRP 409 system with the 3.5" flange on a 4" pipe. Back to the pacbrake, it's inlet from the turbo measures 3.697", and it's outlet measures 3.250" for 1 full inch before it ties on to the downpipe (inlet area versus outlet area is = to 77.28% just on the Pacbrake). My question is, has anyone measured the inside diameter of the inlet and the outlet of the HO units cast iron turbo/downpipe elbow (the 4" in 4" out unit)? I suspect it is 3.7 to 3.75" max. The only other option I see is the 5" turbo back unit for the "05+ as it has a true 4" flange. I just don't want the noise of the 5" and it only comes in the aluminized steel, which will rot out too fast up here during the road salt season we enjoy up here every year. Anyone have any suggestions or should I just calm down and stuff it all in and be happy? That's pretty much where I'm at already, but if someone has info I don't have access to, I'd appreacate it before I throw it all in and can't take it back. I'm pretty certain that a 1" section that is 3.250" in diameter in the new 4" unit won't be as big a deal as the original 7' section of 3.5" pipe from the elbow to the muffler + the muffler + the soot trap.

Too Late It's All In (Here's to Great Friends)

Never mind, I installed it and now I can just quit whining about a 1" section that's only 3.25"s. Sounds good, not too noisy, no real drop in EGT's, but, I haven't towed with it yet, that's a few months away. Gotta hook up the compressor and wire it all tomorrow and then actually try the PacBrake out. Should be fun. All tolled, it took two hours for me and a friend to yank the old unit system out and install the brake and the pipe. (A Friend will help you move, A Great Friend will help you move a body. HEHEHE Thanx Man)
