35" spare and exhaust

Just wondering if anybody has put a 35" spare under there truck along with a five inch exhaust coming out in the stock location. I am planning on going to the five inch soon, and also 35's so I want to know if they will fit. THanks.

Not a Chance, my 33" with stock exhaust rubbed. I put a small peice of asbestos board between them cause the heat was making a crater in the tire at the contact point.

i disagree 99 cummins, i think it would fit. On a 2nd gen, yes you are correct, but 3rd gens can clear a 35" spare in the stock location.

Ramswheelsby4 is someone that i know has a 35" spare he's even got a picture of it.

ive got 295 nittos on H2 rims and the spare tire has plenty of room.

I have a 315 which is close to a 35 inch tire which fits fine with my Aeroturbine cat-back exhaust...it's close but it fits.

The 315 is that hair smaller than a true 35" and almost 2" difference between the stock and 5" exhaust. On the other hand if you actually measure a 35 inch most brands aren't true to that. I think the only way it could work would be to make the bend to the outside of the truck earlier in the pipe but that would bring it closer to the rear tire.

Here is my BFG 315 spare on stock Steel Chrome clad wheel. At 34.4" it is tight, but fits. True 35" will fit also, just a little tighter. I have no issues with the exhaust being too close.

On my 2005, I have the stock 4" pipe with the add-on MBRP muffler. I have a Toyo 325/70/17(35") mounted on the stock spare wheel with zero problems. The Toyo is 34.9" according to their website.

I have maybe 3/8" between the pipe and tire. I think you'll be fine, and it'll work.

From the picture I see the difference you all are reffering to. Width looks like the difference, I am on wider rims that make the tire sit bottom of the tire sit lower. So the question isn't tire diameter, but tire width.

I have 35's and aftermarket 4" exhaust. I was going to just band clamp the whole thing together but it wouldn't clear the spare when all lined up tight with the band clamps. If you weld it up though you can push the joints to where they will clear and make it fit just fine

I have a 5" exhaust and it would touch the stock tire. The part that would touch is the hanger. You would have to adjust the exhaust pipe a little so that it would not touch.

I agree that tire width will be as much an issue as diameter, but I think any 35" would be ok, even on 10" width wheels. The 315s on 17x8 wheel is around 12" width. 35x12.5s on 17x10s probably not more than 13" wide. I have about 1.5" clearance left between 315 and exhaust pipe.

Mine wasn't even thinking about fitting. I had to put in in the bed of the truck with a cable lock going throug the rim. Unless they were 7feet tall, nobody could see it back there though

You can always Flatten the pipe by the tire. Make it more of an oval size, kinda like nascar. your not restricting flow as your only changing the dimensions, the overal flow area would stay the same. So I would just crimp it there and you'll be fine.
