i've got the 315/70/17's under my truck, and i have no death wobble.. [have had it to 120kph on crappy dirt roads and all smooth].. the only thing i can think of maybe helping me not have DW is relocating the rear spring spacers.. that lowers the rear of the truck down, lowers the rear frame a bit, and in turn clocks the front axle a bit more increasing the caster angle..

I've run my original wheel bearings for 240K, with at least a 36" tire. That doesn't mean I don't believe folks are having the unit bearings fail at 36K.
H2's have IFS, and don't appear to have the same issues with DW as the coil sprung 4 link front ends. In the IFS, there is little or no caster change as the suspension cycles.
And as far as internet experts, I'd say Sage Carli, Don Thuren and Kent Kroeker are the real deal.

I dont have a good anser but what i did woked for me. I put on (3) different sets of tires. I dont know about brans making that big of a differents but it did i went TOYOS!! REAL good tire325/70/17 on stock wheels 2in,puck with no problems. But i did go through the tires!! One thing i forgot to say make sure thay balance them right i have seen alot say so but not really do it! One of my tires had a ton of weight on it they were going to put it on like that isaid no way. Brake it down turn half out what do you know half an ounce!!! (KEEP YOUR EYES ON THEM)

I replaced the 265 stock tires with a set of half worn 37 BFG ATs and got death wobble the first time I got the truck up to 65. I replaced all four balljoints, swapped Bilstein 5100s for the worn out Ranchos, and added a KORE steering stabilizer. I ran the same tires for another 15,000 miles and never had another problem. Death wobble can be eliminated with smaller or new tires but they are not the sole contributing factor.

DSS is a great addition. funny enough my dick cepecks are 35's on 20's witth an E rating and i get a little wiggle on some roads. I think they need rebalanced though as when i have my cousers on (35's on stock 17's load D) they are smooth riding.

seems like a lot of people who get the have the 315s also upgrade to Bilstein or Rancho shocks and the 2" leveling kit. If I get the 315s, I would be leaving everything stock, will that deffinetly cause DW then?
Does anyone here have the PROCOMPS All-Terrain which are pretty much the same as the BFG A/T but come in a little more comfortable size, 305 v.s. 315

Most of the other 33/35s Ive seen are 3200/tire....
And some of the other D rated are higher than E with other tires, depending on brand...

No death wobble here.
What did I do to prevent it?
Let's see. I went to the tire store. They installed the 315s on the factory rims. I drove away. I hooked up my 31ft TT and drove 80mph accross Colorado. Have put 12k on the tires so far, and no issues.

40K miles so far on BFG 315's mounted on H2 wheels. Stock suspension. Never a hint of death wobble. Not once.
Question: Has anyone running this combination ever had DW? Seems like everyone that has experienced it is either running the bigger tires on stock wheels, has a leveling kit, or both.

I've got a thousand bucks that says in my case switching from one tire to another completely got rid on my death wobble. The BFG's have 75% tread left and are useless on my truck. With the 37" BFG's I can't drive the truck faster than 65mph regardless of road surface. Hit 65mph now and they start to go nuts, hit a bump and it'll set off a nasty case of wobble every time. I just mounted a set of Toyo 37" tires that have seen use at 95mph and that includes hitting the same bumps that caused my BFG's to freak out. With the Toyo I don't get the wobble. I would be happy to offer a ride in the truck to anyone in the Orange County (California) area that isn't yet a believer.
I call BS on anyone calling BS to the "silly" tire theory. Put your money where your mouth is. Internet Expert out.

I have 32,000 on my truck and have had the 2" leveling kit and the 35's on scince about 5000 never a hint of DW. I had my dealer do the install on the revtek kit maby they have more experiance with the front ends on these trucks? I know my caster/camber(?) angle is pretty radical if I dont keep the tires rotated you can see the uneven wear on the fronts. Btw my local dealer sells 3/4 tons all day with the leveling kit and BFG's both mud and all terrain. They are mostly hemi's tho. Is DW a problem just on the cummins?
