I haven't checked on this thread in a while but, I'm glad I asked the questions I did. Alot of good info has came out on here.
I knew the heads were different b/c of the valves and flow is a bit better on the 600 and 610 motors. But, it's actually not a deciding factor. It's more the electronic and nozzles when they're in factory trim. Then with nozzles, It's just the electronics.
I brought that up b/c I'm trying to decide to sell my 03 and get a 04.5 or newer or just build what I have. Good thread though.

Exactly, thats the reason why I started this thread, I know my 03 makes good power, I need to get it on the dyno, but on the other hand I know that the 04.5 makes a little more power.

Man, I just don't get it, maybe you should ride in mine. I would only trade for one truck and it'd have to be a 4x4 5.9L and have the MegaCab! I love my truck and it RUNS like a bat outa............ I've ridden in many modded out 05s and newer, I just don't see it

My personal dilema is that I could pay mine off, bought it used, but I could pay it off then have that 600 a month to bomb it with, and after a certain point 800+ HP is obtainable for the same money in my 03 as it would be in a 04.5+. So, with that, why not just keep it? With my truck I know what I've got, I know it's in's and out's so...
If I only wanted 500HP then yeah, then trading it would be the better deal. But, I know my self and in time (money) I'm just wanting more power than that.

Is anyone else on here running the 04.5 4" exhaust elbow like myself? I wonder if anyone else thinks it was worth the hassle? I like it b/c I can run the 5" DP.

Yes, I have the 04.5+ elbow dangling from my HTB2 to a Magnaflow 5" system designed for the 04.5 trucks. My egts are very low since the turbo install but the elbow/magnaflow didn't make a huge difference, I could still hit 1600* w/ stock turbo and Smarty/Quad stack. I had the intercooler at that time also. Turbo cooled things off big time as it should. I can't say the elbow is huge, but if your upgrading your turbo or exhaust then just do it.
