I know ! I can't wait either. I've been looking at intake options, looks like getting my stock cool tube and getting a filter to accommodate it as well as a simple bracket to hold things in place are in order.

I keep trying to imagine how it will sound

Thanks for taking pics and such, no rush, take your time on it. I'm leaving Saturday for florida and won't be back for a week and a half. I will try to stay current on the forums during that time. When i get back i will be awaited by some audio goodies for the rhino and then I can assess the damages and go for the manifold. I'm stoked!

I took about 10 million pictures, hopefully it will help some folks out who want to do this. I was also taking some measurements to fab a nice intake.

There was a tag on the turbo oil drain but i couldnt make out what it said

Wow Levi, way to go above and beyond for us. Thanks so much!

Since I don't have a welder, I think I will contact Source Automotive and see what Rip can do. I found a link to buy a 3rd gen turbo flange, so if Rip can't just do it for me, I guess I will have a muffler shop around here make the mod.

I also found somewhere that a *****'s Whistler intake configuration with the straight piece shortened to ~1.5 inches works well. Looking forward to getting started.

stock 3rd gen turbo outlet is 2.75", i necks up to 3" right after the boot. I think the aftermarket 3rd gen turbos are this way too?

After reading that link, it seems that sooter wasn't completely satisfied with the sound with his he341. Would my he351 sound better, or should i just do it right and look for a good mild turbo? I'm in no rush to do it, but it will be done sooner or later as my truck does sound sick (tinny and high pitched like her sinuses are clogged).

BTW, thanks for the links.

i would be surprised if the he351 sounded much different...exhaust housing is still 9 cm, i think the turbine is 60mm instead of 57? Also his having only two injection events could account for some of it as well as stock camshaft.

Alot of variables i reckon. One thing is for sure...no matter what turbo you run, the 2nd gen manifold is an improvement for sure

Nope . Too much stuff going on right now. I did straight the truck out, totally different sounding animal now. Most ppl hang their mouths when they hear me coming. Still want to do it, just got some personal priorities I have to fulfill.
